Stamp Collecting

I’m new to stamp collecting and want to know whether stamps that are canceled (i.e. stamps that are marked from being in transit from the postal carrier) lose their value because they’re marked? Or is collecting mainly reserved to unused stamps?

the stamps are starting from year of 1880 to 1960 also from worldwide countries. All are used stamps.
