Jonathan asked:
Okay. Well, I’ve recently started to collect stamps. Mostly, I’m doing it because it’s fun and it gives me a sense of accomplishment. Anyways, I have a lot of stamps, mostly, I’m trying to start out sticking with U.S stamps, although I intend on soon collecting European stamps once I understand what I’m doing. Anyways, I’m pretty good at removing stamps from paper, which is what I’ve been doing for a few days now. I have about 1500 U.S stamps. But, could anyone tell me what to do after I get them all off of paper? How should I sort them? Also, how do I judge the stamps by value based on the looks of them? Last but not least, since I’m a beginner, could anyone who has been collecting give me some tips on stamp collecting, or just some helpful information. Any info is helpful. Thank you. Hope someone can help.

I bought the entire Scott Catalog on CD, and I’m new to stamp collecting. I’m trying to look up stamps in the catalog and I don’t really understand the different columns, classifications, prices, etc. Is there some sort of index or key to understanding how stamps are listed?
Thanks.

Vboy303 asked: I’m not a stamp collector.. nor am I a big Star Wars fan (more of a trekkie - but that’s controversial and totally off the topic). Well while standing in yet another long Monday line at the post office. I noticed a flyer regarding these Star Wars stamps coming out in May 25th. My question is to all the stamp collectors out there - what is your take on these? I think they are rather cool and wonder how much they’ll be worth in a short amount of time or will it take time for them to be worth anymore than their face value.
Also where do you go to check how much a stamp you have is worth .. And where do you keep your collection. Thanks

I have a few stamps from a childhood collection, nothing that valuable, but I would like to organize them and add to them for my grandchildren’s enjoyment. How do I get started? I thought there would be albums available to indicate which stamps are valuable and which to group together, etc. but I can’t find anything like that. Any advice?
